Come capire se la lettiera che hai scelto è sostenibile davvero oppure no?
Abbiamo riassunto le caratteristiche fondamentali che deve possedere un prodotto davvero green.
Eccole:
- Ingredienti solo di origine vegetale
- Pochi ingredienti in etichetta (etichetta pulita)
- Materia prima da economia circolare (solo parti non edibili dei vegetali)
- Materia prima che non intacchi le risorse naturali (non ricavata dal legno)
- Nessuna fragranza aggiunta
- Raccolta e lavorazione vicine
- Compostabile (certificata OK compost HOME)
- Packaging ecologico (solo in materiali riciclati)
Quando un prodotto è davvero sostenibile parla l'etichetta! E lo capisci anche "a naso" e guardandolo: ha un lieve odore naturale e un aspetto simile a quello dei cereali, con un colore non artificiale (non bianco).

È fatta solo di parti non edibili dell'orzo. In etichetta ha soltanto orzo e lieviti naturali. Non ha fragranze ma riesce a non creare cattivi odori grazie a un trattamento tutto naturale che abbiamo brevettato con un'équipe di esperti. L'orzo è trasportato su chiatte lungo il Po, dal punto di raccolta al punto di lavorazione. È compostabile ed è stata la prima lettiera in Europa a essere certificata OK compost HOME. Puoi quindi smaltirla nel WC, nell'organico e nel compost senza problemi perché è a zero rifiuti. Ha ovviamente un packaging 100% ecologico, come anche tutti i nostri accessori.
How to understand if the litter you have chosen is really sustainable or not? We have summarized the fundamental characteristics that a truly green product must possess. Here they are:
- Ingredients only of plant origin
- Few ingredients on the label (clean label)
- Raw material from circular economy (only non-edible parts of vegetables)
- Raw material that does not affect natural resources (not obtained from wood)
- No added fragrance
- Harvest and processing nearby
- Compostable (OK compost HOME certified)
- Eco-friendly packaging (only in recycled materials)
When a product is truly sustainable, the label speaks for itself! And you also understand it "by nose" and by looking at it: it has a slight natural odor and a cereal-like appearance, with a non-artificial color (not white). Greencat meets all the characteristics listed... and more! It is made only of the inedible parts of barley. On the label it only has barley and natural yeasts. It has no fragrances but manages to avoid creating bad odors thanks to an all-natural treatment that we have patented with a team of experts. The barley is transported on barges along the Po, from the collection point to the processing point. It is compostable and was the first litter in Europe to be OK compost HOME certified. You can therefore dispose of it in the toilet, in the organic waste and in the compost without problems because it is zero waste. It obviously has 100% ecological packaging, as do all our accessories.
